The Embedded Systems Engineering section at DTU Compute is looking for several student programmers to develop Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools in two areas:

  • Safety-critical systems. You will be part of a team developing CAD tools for safety critical systems used in areas such as avionics and automotive. At the processor level, the tools decide the partition and scheduling tables, which provide separation for mixed-criticality applications. At the communication level, we focus on configuring the TTEthernet protocol. We collaborate with partners such as Danfoss, TTTech, Volvo and Airbus in the EMC2 EU project, with 98 partners from industry and academia. See these slides for examples of design tools.
  • Lab-on-a-chip devices. You will be part of a team doing CAD tools for lab-on-a-chip devices (also called biochips). The tools decide the physical layout of the biochips (placement of components, routing of channels) and perform the compilation of biochemical applications. We collaborate with Stanford University, the University of California at Riverside and National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. See the videos on this page and these slides.
  • You will work on implementing algorithms to be used inside CAD tools.
